James Watson

In this lecture James Watson discusses the structure of DNA and how it functions with the brain. He wrote the Book Double Helix. I found it interesting when he talked about how they found the structure f DNA (Double Helix.) He discovered that DNA had a three dimensional structure. This made him win the Nobel peace prize. I liked the way he spoke, Watson seemed to be a silly friendly old man but then again it is kind of like don’t underestimate his outside exterior because this guy certainly knows his stuff. He was one of those “Speak softly but carry a big stick” type of person (actually more of carry a big brain.) Naturally he says that in order to uncover the causes of brain damage and other types of mental disorders is in our genes. This makes me think of how things are hereditary, (good or bad). Down from hair color, skin tone, height etc. unfortunately for me I got the genetic garbage as far as eye sight is concerned, mean everyone in my family has horrible eye sight I knew one way or another I was doomed…
